New Event Venue Being Added to the Neon Line

David Morris Group - New Event Venue Being Added to the Neon Line - Best Reno Real Estate Team - Reno Events - Reno Growth

The Reno Neon Line continues to revamp much of the city and bring in new additions that brighten and liven up the West Fourth Street corridor. Now the group in charge of the project has a new event venue being added to the Neon Line to begin working on.

The venue is called Sands Connect and has already begun construction between the Sands Regency hotel-casino and Gold Dust West. The goal is for Sands Connect to meet the growing demand for residents and visitors to have a central event space for them to gather for things like food truck festivals, exhibits, farmer’s markets, etc.

Sands Connect will have a festival tent as well as an open promenade with a picnic area to encourage people to spend time in the area. There will be an outdoor stage, a beer garden, and the historic Nystrom House that was moved from its previous location will be incorporated into the plans for the venue. Currently, the Nystrom House is expected to be turned into the main hub for guests to grab a drink or a bite to eat at events.

Just as the Sands Connect is honoring the history and revitalizing the Nystrom House, the group in charge is looking to continue to incorporate parts of Reno’s past by tying in several classic neon signs that were once seen along the streets of the city.

By next year, the event venue hopes to be a part of dozens of community events, and Sands Connect is taking charge of that goal by hosting a variety of events in the coming months. Below is a list of some of the events scheduled for Sands Connect in 2020:

  • June 5 – 7: Reno Art Fest at Sands Connect
  • July 3 – 5: Red, White, and Brew at Sands Connect
  • August 6 – 9: Sierra Nevada European Car Festival at Sands Connect
  • August 28 – 29: Camp Tiny Houses at Sands Connect
  • September 4 – 6: Labor Day Weekend Party at Sands Connect
  • September 7 – 9: Playa Transition at Sands Connect
  • September 11 – 12: Little Hero’s at Sands Connect
  • September 19 – 20: Taco Fest at Sands Connect
  • September 25 – 27: Street Vibrations at Sands Connect

It’s not a party without Duckie, after all.

If you’re looking to keep your New Year’s lowkey by hosting a party of your own, don’t miss the fireworks show from three different rooftops in Downtown Reno. The pop of color will ensure that your night ends with a bang and brings hope that 2020 will burn bright.

Celebrating October with Boos and Brews

Celebrating October with Boos and Brews

Reno’s wine walks are almost as legendary as the bar crawls, but for the casual beer drinker that just enjoys sampling a few of the newest brews, Reno has you covered too! With fall just kicking off and with the Halloween season upon us, it’ll be time to switch out those pale ales for stouts and porters. For some of the best breweries to visit this autumn, just keep scrolling!

  1. Lead Dog Brewing – There’s nothing quite like an Oktoberfest brew to make it feel like the fall season is upon us. Lead Dog Brewing’s locations in Reno and Sparks will have you waxing your board in preparation for the fresh powder with just a few sips of their seasonal brews.
  2. 10 Torr – For those who love a play on words, you’ll want to check out 10 Torr’s newly-released Hazemania Devil, a Double NE IPA made with hops straight from Tazmania. There’s also a coffee stout set to be released in October, and we’re sure it’ll be just as mouth-watering as the rest of their brews.
  3. The Depot – If you crave anything pumpkin flavored as soon as fall is even mentioned, you’ll want to get more than a few tastes of the Pumpkin Brown Ale, The Pilgrim, at The Depot. With a pale lager, a smoked pilsner, and a wild ale to round out their seasonal brews, there’s something for every beer lover here!
  4. Great Basin Brewing Company – As Nevada’s oldest brewery, Great Basin Brewing Company knows how to make the flavors of the season pop in a variety of their beers. The Reno and Sparks locations will have Oktoberfest and Deathwish APA that will pay homage to the fall flavors, so be sure to give them a whirl.
  5. Pigeon Head Brewery – As Reno’s first brewery to think about brewing on a larger scale, there’s always a variety of tasty beers to try, but for something that has a little more of a fall vibe, try Red Rye Lager, the India Pale Lager, or their signature Oktoberfest brew.

There are a ton of places to visit in order to get into the fall spirit. Before the streets are overrun with zombies, witches, and ghosts for a spooky Halloween celebration, be sure to sip some of the seasonal specialties at the breweries around town. If you happen to find a local hot spot you frequent and would love a home nearby, give our team a call! We’re happy to work with you to find your dream home in your dream neighborhood.

Reno's Got Good Vibrations

Reno’s Got Good Vibrations

Reno's Got Good Vibrations

There’s a rumble and then a roar, and before you know it, the streets are shaking with the sounds from several engines grumbling down the block. Everywhere you go, you’ll see, hear, and feel hundreds of motorcycles joining the cars along the streets and kicking off one of Reno’s favorite fall events — Street Vibrations!

The last motorcycle rally of 2019 is coming September 25 and the events will finish up on September 29. If you’ve been to Street Vibrations before, you know that the fall rally takes it to a new level every year. With six outdoor stages, there’s amazing live entertainment to keep you entertained and rocking out while you explore the more than 250 vendors spread throughout downtown Reno.

The event doesn’t stop there! Scavenger hunts and poker runs are also included in the lineup, as well as a spectacular fireworks display in downtown Reno. For the true bike lovers, there’s a custom bike auction, bike builder’s show and competition, and even a tattoo expo.

Reno's Got Good Vibrations

If you can’t make it to downtown Reno, there are even some events happening in Virginia City, Carson City, and the Harley-Davidson stores in the area! There are some great headliners coming into town just for the festivities including Grand Marshal Erik Estrada who will head up the “Police on Parade.”

No matter if you come to the event for the outdoor concerts and vendors or to participate in some of the other activities, be sure to marvel at the bikes that are incredible pieces of art. The Street Vibrations Fall Rally is just one of the events that makes us love Reno, and we hope you and your family get out to enjoy some of the festivities!
