Stay in the Know: 4 Construction Projects Happening Around Reno

David Morris Group Stay in the Know_ 4 Construction Projects Happening Around Reno Reno-Sparks Real Estate Reno-Sparks Homes

The rattle of the bulldozers, hammers, and cranes have been heard throughout Reno. With all of the construction happening, it’s hard to keep up on what projects are taking place and what has been done in the recent months. We have an update on some really exciting projects everyone should know about!

Esprit Townhome Apartments
The Reno-Sparks housing communities are seeing a large need for middle homes, better known as a market between apartment living and single-family home lifestyles. The Esprit Townhome Apartments consist of 126 three-story townhouses tucked on a 7.88-acre lot. The construction area is close to Veterans Parkway and Geiger Grade. Construction crews are already clearing the land and it’s expected that the clubhouse will be finished in spring 2020 with residents starting to move in around that time.

OnTrac
This logistics firm is currently building a 186,600-square-foot space in Reno’s North Valleys. The new facility could be a complement or a replacement of the 165,000-square-foot distribution center on Vista Boulevard in Sparks, but there’s been no word on what OnTrac plans to do with both properties.

The Pavilions
The Pavilions shopping center on South Virginia Street continues to be touched up. The whole shopping center is getting a facelift with a new lumber and slate exterior. There has also been interior demolition of walls, grid ceilings, and HVAC systems.

Steamboat by Vintage
Last July a low-income apartment project broke ground and it’s finally coming together! The clubhouse is open and the first apartment buildings have residents moving in. The development has one, two, and three bedroom apartments available for people who fit the low-income household thresholds. The property also features three playgrounds, an outdoor swimming pool, a fitness facility, and a dog park.

Affordable housing continues to be an area that developers and city officials are focusing their attention. With this comes a lot of construction and new projects springing up. If you’re ever curious about what’s happening in your neighborhood and how the coming changes could affect the resale value of your home, contact us at The David Morris Group. We’re happy to give you an insider’s perspective into the real estate market and help you buy or sell a home!

Celebrating October with Boos and Brews

Reno’s wine walks are almost as legendary as the bar crawls, but for the casual beer drinker that just enjoys sampling a few of the newest brews, Reno has you covered too! With fall just kicking off and with the Halloween season upon us, it’ll be time to switch out those pale ales for stouts and porters. For some of the best breweries to visit this autumn, just keep scrolling!

  1. Lead Dog Brewing – There’s nothing quite like an Oktoberfest brew to make it feel like the fall season is upon us. Lead Dog Brewing’s locations in Reno and Sparks will have you waxing your board in preparation for the fresh powder with just a few sips of their seasonal brews.
  2. 10 Torr – For those who love a play on words, you’ll want to check out 10 Torr’s newly-released Hazemania Devil, a Double NE IPA made with hops straight from Tazmania. There’s also a coffee stout set to be released in October, and we’re sure it’ll be just as mouth-watering as the rest of their brews.
  3. The Depot – If you crave anything pumpkin flavored as soon as fall is even mentioned, you’ll want to get more than a few tastes of the Pumpkin Brown Ale, The Pilgrim, at The Depot. With a pale lager, a smoked pilsner, and a wild ale to round out their seasonal brews, there’s something for every beer lover here!
  4. Great Basin Brewing Company – As Nevada’s oldest brewery, Great Basin Brewing Company knows how to make the flavors of the season pop in a variety of their beers. The Reno and Sparks locations will have Oktoberfest and Deathwish APA that will pay homage to the fall flavors, so be sure to give them a whirl.
  5. Pigeon Head Brewery – As Reno’s first brewery to think about brewing on a larger scale, there’s always a variety of tasty beers to try, but for something that has a little more of a fall vibe, try Red Rye Lager, the India Pale Lager, or their signature Oktoberfest brew.

There are a ton of places to visit in order to get into the fall spirit. Before the streets are overrun with zombies, witches, and ghosts for a spooky Halloween celebration, be sure to sip some of the seasonal specialties at the breweries around town. If you happen to find a local hot spot you frequent and would love a home nearby, give our team a call! We’re happy to work with you to find your dream home in your dream neighborhood.
